THE NURSERY & THE COVE
The Nursery is for children aged birth to two and The Cove is for ages three to five.It is our desire to partner with parents in raising their children to know and love God. Each week’s teaching, worship, and activities are age appropriate and designed to establish foundational, biblical concepts of God's Word.

Adventure Island
This is a Sunday morning ministry for 1st – 4th graders. In an inviting and fun atmosphere children learn to know God through age appropriate teaching, worship and activities. We use skits, object lessons and small group discussions to reinforce the lesson. For the children’s safety, we use a state-of-the-art check in system and require each worker to pass a background check.
BREAKOUT
This is a Sunday morning ministry for 5th & 6th graders. Today's world and culture can be such an influence in a pre-teen’s life. It is our goal to help them ‘breakout’ of the world’s mold. They get biblical life lessons and principles for life application with weekly bible lessons, games and small group discussions.
STEADFAST
The teenage years are often a time in life when students have no direction. We believe God is calling teenagers to a purpose and want to help them find that purpose. Each week we meet to engage teens in games, challenge them through a relevant message and refresh them through worship with a live teen band. We also offer times to build friendships through small group discussions, annual convention, summer camps and occasional trips.1 Peter 5:10 tells us that God makes us strong and steadfast. Our goal is to see teenagers stand for God in a world of compromise.
ADULTS
REAL Women
We’re wives, moms, sisters, professionals, daughters, and no matter what season of life we find ourselves in, we’re still just girls at heart. We’re uniquely female and have a distinct beauty to offer. Our mission is to create passion in women to be REAL (Radically Effective and Authentically Liberated) as we discover together the beauty God wants us to release to the world. We meet quarterly for fellowship and once a year for a weekend retreat.

Becoming
A weekly women’s bible/book study is offered on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am in The Cove. This time is designed to deepen friendships and gain insights through topical study of God's Word.
Men’s Breakfast
All men are invited to breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 8am. They meet in Common Grounds Café to share breakfast, a relevant devotional teaching, and fellowship with other husbands, fathers, businessmen, and community leaders. This group offers to build camaraderie among the men of Discovery as find their place of authority in the Kindgom of God.
Catalyst
Sometimes it takes a fresh mechanism to refine our focus and get us back on track. Catalyst is a means by which people can invest in their spiritual journey through studying God’s Word together. This group offers a unique format that builds on the foundation of Christian habits while also fostering relationships within the church family. Each session is six to eight weeks in length – one offered in January, and the other in September.
OUTREACH – OPERATION BACKPACK
Background
Many area families struggle to provide weekend meals for their children. Operation Backpack, is a free ministry of Discovery Church located in Cibolo, Texas. It’s our vision to help families eat healthy meals and snacks by partnering with a local elementary school.
How Operation Backpack Works
Each Friday afternoon elementary school children receive a backpack of healthy foods and snacks. On Monday the child returns the empty backpack to the main office to be restocked with food for the following Friday. An Operation Backpack may include the following items: cereal, breakfast bars, oatmeal, juice, tuna kits, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter crackers, soup, apple sauce, fruit cups, ravioli, vegetables, and other nutritious food – all non-perishable items.
Who Can Participate?
Beginning in February 2010, Discovery Church will work with families from Schertz Elementary School through Operation Backpack. Program participation will be kept confidential.
Program Partners
Operation Backpack is supported by Discovery Church. If your organization is interested in supporting this program please contact the church.
How Can I Help?
We need volunteers to take a backpack home and fill it with nutritionally sound food. Please bring your backpack to the church office by noon on Thursday (office hours are M-Th 9am-4pm). A list of needed food items is available on the back of this brochure. Financial donations can be made at: www.discoverylife.org or at our weekly Sunday services.
